Itinerary — Northern Circuit Route 8 Days Kilimanjaro:

Day 1: Arrival in Moshi & Transfer to Londorossi Gate

🚙 Activity: Transfer from Moshi to Londorossi Gate & Start Trek

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you’ll be met by an Olduvai Tours Tan Africa representative who will transfer you to Moshi for an overnight stay. Early the next morning, you’ll be transferred to Londorossi Gate, where you will complete registration and start your trek on the Northern Circuit Route.

You’ll begin your journey with a gentle walk through lush rainforest, where you’ll encounter various wildlife and plant species. Your first night will be spent at Mti Mkubwa Camp, where you’ll enjoy dinner and rest in preparation for the next day’s trek.


Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp

Barafu Camp is where you’ll rest and prepare for the final ascent. You’ll have an early dinner, followed by a rest before your midnight summit attempt.


Day 7: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak & Descent to Mweka Camp

📍 Distance: 6 km to Uhuru Peak (5-7 hours) & 13 km descent (4-6 hours)

Day 7 is the most challenging of the trek. You’ll begin your summit attempt at midnight, trekking through the cold and darkness towards Uhuru Peak. The climb is steep and demanding, but reaching the summit will be an incredibly rewarding experience.

After celebrating at the summit, you’ll begin your descent to Mweka Camp, where you’ll rest and enjoy a warm meal.


Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate & Transfer to Moshi

📍 Distance: 10 km (3-4 hours)
🚙 Activity: Trek from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate & Transfer to Moshi
🍽 Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

On the final day, you’ll descend from Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate. This section of the trek takes you through lush rainforest, offering a different perspective of the mountain’s lower regions. Once at Mweka Gate, you’ll receive your summit certificate.

You’ll then be transferred back to Moshi to relax and reflect on your incredible achievement.
